Language preference
Your selected language is saved in this browser’s local storage. It is restored on future visits and is not sent to a translation service. Clear site data to reset it. Original downloadable documents keep their source language.
Local weather
Toronto weather loads by default. Your browser asks before sharing your location. Coordinates are rounded to two decimal places before being sent to Open-Meteo. You can choose a city instead. Your chosen location is saved in browser local storage and reused on future visits. Choose Toronto in weather settings or clear site data to reset it. Weather results stay in memory.
Weather requests refresh about every 5 minutes while the page is visible. Open-Meteo receives the request, including your IP address, under its own terms and privacy information. Sun and moon times are also calculated locally for your saved area, so System can still follow sunrise and sunset if weather is unavailable.
Time and motion
The clock and date use your browser’s timezone. The clock format and landscape pause control last for this visit. Reduced motion keeps a gentle landscape with fewer moving effects and no lightning flashes.
Environmental sound
Sound starts muted. Your sound preference is saved in this browser. A saved on preference still waits for interaction before playing. Sounds are generated locally, and pause or mute stops them.
Reading and games
Game scores stay in memory while you are on the games page. Story listening uses your browser’s speech service; available voices and processing depend on your browser and operating system.
Project demos
Project pages show a play button instead of a video player, so nothing loads from YouTube while you read. Pressing play loads the demo from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, under Google’s own terms. Watch links open YouTube directly.
Other requests
Fonts load from Google Fonts. External links open the destination site, which has its own privacy practices. Hosting providers may process standard request logs to deliver and secure the site. There is no analytics or advertising tracker installed in this application.
